Bernard Allison Reveals Bold New Single Before European Tour

Bernard Allison dropped “Left Me With My Guitar” on March 6 through Ruf Records, delivering a raw digital single just days before launching his spring European tour. The track marks Allison’s first new release since his 2024 album Highs & Lows and finds the Chicago-bred guitarist channeling heartbreak into six strings of unfiltered blues.

A Single Built on Grit and Groove

“Left Me With My Guitar” strips things back to what Bernard Allison does best — raw emotion delivered through searing fretwork and a locked-in rhythm section. The song’s title tells the story: when everything else falls away, the guitar remains. That theme runs deep in blues tradition, echoing the same resolve that has powered the genre since Delta blues artists first turned personal loss into timeless music.

Allison attacks the material with the same intensity his father Luther Allison brought to stages worldwide for decades. Growing up watching Luther command audiences from Wisconsin to Montreux, Bernard absorbed a performance philosophy rooted in giving everything to every note. That ethos drives “Left Me With My Guitar” from its opening bars.

The single arrived as a digital-only release, available across all major streaming platforms. Ruf Records confirmed the track through their PR channels, with the label noting that additional Bernard Allison news is expected later this week.

European Tour Underway

Allison timed the release strategically, dropping the single just ahead of a European tour that kicked off in France around March 10 at Les Cuizines in Chelles, near Paris. The tour extends through March and April 2026 with confirmed dates across France, Germany, and other European markets — territory where Allison has built a particularly devoted following over the past two decades. German stops include Münster’s Hot Jazz Club and Bielefeld’s Jazzclub, with additional dates running through April.

That European connection runs through his relationship with Ruf Records, the German label that has served as home base for numerous modern blues artists building international audiences. Allison’s catalog on the label stretches back years, and each release has reinforced his reputation as one of the hardest-working guitarists on the circuit.
